FREE MINI BOOKS TO PRINT (29) – Mini Colouring Books

Free Mini Books to Print – Animal Colouring Books for Children  - Mini Books Obsession

Following a suggestion for mini colouring books, I’ve made some with simple animal pictures - so children could actually colour them in if they wanted to, or you could just make them up for your mini bookshelf.

The downloads are below, and there’s a tutorial here for how to assemble them. Here's how they look when made up:

FREE MINI BOOKS TO PRINT (28) – Mini Children’s ‘Sticker’ Books

Free Mini Books to Print – mini ‘Sticker’ picture books for children- Mini Books Obsession

I found some pictures of stickers online that I could ‘cut out’ (using Paint.net, a free app!) so I shrunk them down and made mini books with them. The animals and transport books are quite simple for littlies, but I made the ‘Fun Stickers’ book from a variety of stickers with positive messages, thinking it would be a good one to give away to school-age kids.

The download options are below, and there’s a tutorial here for how to assemble the books. Here’s how they look when printed on A4 paper and made up:

LOTS of MINI BOOKS!

I've sorted the mini books I've designed so far into rough categories, so here's a picture of them:

If there are any themes you'd like to find, you can search for particular topics or titles in the Search bar at the right.

The books have been put in their new bookcase now (tutorial in previous post if you'd like to make one), and there's still a bit of room for more books.
I've realised some of the books are a bit too big for this size bookcase, so I've left them out, and I'll have to watch that in future when I'm making new books.

I'm currently working on some mini colouring books for children, and a couple of other children's picture books (coming soon).

MAKE A SIMPLE MINI BOOKCASE - TUTORIAL

HOW TO MAKE A SIMPLE BOOKCASE FOR MINI BOOKS

Here’s a step-by-step tutorial to make your own mini bookcase using just craft sticks, match sticks and cardboard. You’ll need some wood glue, cutting implements, sandpaper or emery board and a few other things, but this is a basic, simple design using cheap materials.

I am no carpenter, so apologies for the ‘handmade’, rough finish (and bendy sides), but this is aimed at the not-so-handy craftsperson, and was made as a bit of an experiment. Feel free to adapt and improve on this as you wish!

My bookcase was designed to fit my mini books (all the books on the shelves here are available as printables on this blog).
The ‘large’ craft sticks (2.5cm/1in wide) were an ideal size, They are cheap to buy, but they tend to be warped, so they won’t make a perfect finish.
Matchsticks work as shelf supports to make assembly easier and for extra strength, and once again they are cheap but not all uniform and smooth.
I wanted a back for the bookcase so I used cardboard from a tissue box, but you could of course use any thick card or wood you have access to.

If you would like a stained/varnished finish, apply your finish before assembling, or the glue will prevent absorption in some spots. If you wish to paint the shelves, it’s easier to do this before adding the back.

The 3-page instructions can be downloaded here (the PDF is easier to read than the photo):
